The Summer/Spring runway evening gowns sparkle with crystal-studded chromatic bursts as seen in the Zuhair Murad show. Metallic and lace are now becoming one with this now popular combination. Theatrical displays of sculpted peplums ruled the runway along with shades of fire red, fuchsia and emerald green. Look for over-sized bows and ruffle accents to achieve a similar Zuhair Murad style.

Go the velvet route, as seen on the Valentino Couture runway. Wear velvet in a variety of ways including pleated, painted or brocaded! Also seen on Valentino were color pallets of dark mossy green, deep burgundy and absinthe yellow. Try a sheer bodice with Victorian details and a little sparkle.

Get Chanel-chic by picking up an all-silver dress with pale pink details. Chanel’s Couture show pulled out tons of glitter, silver and shiny elements. Get a similar look by shopping for a metallic base, paired with frills of tulle or wafting feathers. Cloud like feathers can be the details of your evening clutch or heels instead of on the dress itself. Add a strong belt to the most feminine of gowns for a stand out ensemble and to define the waist.

Florals and natural elements graced down many runways for this season. Princess cut gowns with cinched waists also made their mark especially with Dior’s 2017 Spring Collection. Florals along with semi sheer details were heavily emphasized as well. Get as chic as Dior with a floral ethereal-like crown with a subtle floral print gown, or a dress with a solid color bodice and bold floral skirt. Look for color pallets in the nude, pale blue, and off white family.

Live the illusion life this prom season with heavily embellished gowns that give the look of ‘nothing underneath.’ This is also a great way to show legs without wearing a short gown. If you want more of a balance with the ‘nude’ look, opt for a long sleeve illusion dress. Elie Saab brought all and more of these elements in at his Spring/Summer 2017 Couture Show, giving his loyal following a range filled with intricate embroidery, luxe fabrics, and high-shine embellishment, all done in rich shades of blue and gold. Just the Elie Saab blue tone alone, used in this collection would make a beautifully rich statement. Add gold in your evening shoe, evening clutch, hair accessories, or jewelry to softly mirror Elie Saab’s couture collection. The golden age of Egyptian cinema is reflected in the collection and oriental gold embroideries and geometric crystal formations take the lead on many gowns. Even if tons of crystals and embroidery is not quite your style, this can always be expressed in your shoes, especially our Lumi or Elsa shoe.

Old Hollywood glamour still stands firm amongst all the trends and risky looks, as seen on the Ralph & Russo 2017 Couture Show. This glamour was channeled through looks such as a black tulle strapless gown appliquéd with silk organza, a white tulle ball gown with ruffle skirt, a black tulle cocktail number adorned with silk petals, glass beads and ostrich feathers, and a silver foil fringe-and-feather dress. Dare to wear a bold all white or red gown. Turn hands in a similar organza gown, or mesh illusion gown with romantic shoulders. Wow from head to toe with our Park Place special occasion shoe, which pairs well with almost any gown!

Whether you go for a silvery heavy glam prom look as seen on Chanel, or a barely-there, nude and embellishment combo as seen on Elie Saab, any prom dress needs the finishing touch of confidence and a fabulous De Blossom heel, of course!
